What are you grateful for?
Today, 2 more stories that warmed my heart. The first is an 84 yr old man with has not felt the bottoms of his feet in over 10 years due to peripheral neuropathy. Today, he can. He walks better, more stable and is so very happy he able to garden without falling.
The second is a 15 yr old female whose passion and purpose is crew. She has been living, drinking and breathing crew until a sever disc herniation / extrusion stopped her in her tracks. She came to the clinic a few months ago in tears from the pain, but more so because her doctors said she may never row again (at age 15). 2 months in our program and not only is she back in training with no restrictions, no pain, but she and her team placed first place in one race and placed second in the next this past weekend.
When people say "there is nothing you can do" for peripheral neuropathy or a herniated disc or for any diagnoses for that matter, .....I say they are wrong. For 17 years we have been treating injuries and conditions that have been written off by the medical model with great success. Don't take no for an answer in any situation. Research and educate yourself!
